THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The 13th-ranked LMU women's water polo team earned a four-game sweep at the Tina Finali Invitational hosted by Cal Lutheran, getting a pair of wins on the final day on Sunday.

The Lions earned an 11-4 win over the host in the first game, and then claimed a 7-3 win over Claremont in the final game. The game was delayed due to lightning in the middle of third quarter and then eventually called a final at that point due to the weather.

The Lions improve to 13-5 on the season.

"This tournament was all about getting our young roster experience," said Head Coach Kyle Witt. "We were able to play everyone and that experience will really help us as the season progresses. This was a good weekend for us, gaining needed experience."

The Lions will have two weeks off before hosting their home opener against fifth-ranked UC Irvine on Saturday, March 18 at 12 noon.
