LOS ANGELES -- Playing in his 119th game on Thursday, senior Godwin Okonji has become a master at the little things, something he has come to appreciate as he enters the final two home stands of his productive career.

LMU Sports Network caught up with Okonji - following extra time on his own shooting free throws of all things - to talk about the little things and their importance in his career and to winning basketball games. Okonji's role in those things has him playing some of his best basketball.

Okonji, who had 18 offensive rebounds in the Lions' four-game road swing, leads the WCC with 70 offensive rebounds (3.2 per game). He led the Lions with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals against Saint Mary's, and came back with 11 points and seven rebounds (five offensive) against Pacific. The last four games he averaged 11.8 points and 7.0 rebounds.

He now leads the Lions with 6.0 rebounds per contest, ranking 9th in the WCC. He has 133 rebounds this season, giving him 576 in his career. He is the 27th Lion to top 500 rebounds in a career, currently ranking 17th all-time at LMU. He is also ranked 7th in the WCC with 29 steals (1.32 spg). His five last week gives him 93 in his career, cracking the top-30 all-time at LMU, ranking 27th.
