LOS ANGELES -- Junior Marin Mornar has found success for the LMU men's basketball team as they continue to navigate the tough road of West Coast Conference play. That success, however, isn't just on the court. Thanks to a supporting cast throughout campus, the native of Zagreb, Croatia navigates the rigors of his Civil Engineering major.
As the Lions head on the road for the final time in WCC play, the LMU Sports Network caught up with the busy junior to get a glimpse on how he manages his very busy schedule, time away on the road, and being a student-athlete at LMU.
Mornar continues to shine in WCC play, posting his his fifth career-high game in the last nine contests against USD, going for 27 points and nine rebounds. In the last four games, Mornar is averaging 19.0 points and 7.8 rebounds. In the 13 WCC games, he is 11th in scoring (13.8), 5th in rebounds (7.0), 4th in offensive rebounds (2.8 orpg), 7th in defensive rebounds (4.2 drpg), 5th in field goal percentage (53.3%), 10th in free throw percentage (81.6%) and 3rd in blocks (1.5 bpg).
The growth hasn't been limited to just the court. As Mornar begins to get a heavy load of classes within his major, the LMUSN was able to spend the afternoon with him in CIVIL210 - Surveying and Mapping. And as he shows, Mornar is able to make it all work thanks to good time management and full support from his teammates on the floor and the team around him in the classroom.
Mornar and the Lions face a daunting task on Thursday, facing the second-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs at 6 pm. Here is a look on all you need to know for the game:
