LOS ANGELES - Alvaro Madrigal, who had a breakout sophomore season this fall for the LMU men's soccer team, was named to the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Far West Region Third Team, the association announced this week.
This marks the third straight year that the Lions have been represented on the All-Region squad.
Madrigal, who was also an All-West Coast Conference First Team selection, served as the Lions top goal scorer, assist man and point-getter this fall. He totaled eight goals, including one game-winner, as well as five assists. His 21 points topped the Lion squad and ranked second among all WCC players.
As a freshman, Madrigal earned All-WCC Honorable Mention and WCC All-Freshman Team honors after opening his collegiate career with two goals and four assists for eight points.
LMU closed out the 2015 season with a 9-9-0 overall record and 4-3-0 WCC record.
