Winning Streak Hits Eight

LOS ANGELES - The 14th-ranked LMU men's water polo team earned their eighth straight win thanks to a 13-9 victory over San Jose State on Friday afternoon at the Burns Aquatics Center. The winning streak is the longest in the program's history.

Freshman Dayne Jagga scored five goals and redshirt junior Kirk Wilenius had 15 saves as the Lions improve to 11-10 on the season. San Jose State had three players with a pair of goals each and Matej Matijevic had 10 saves. They fall to 3-21.

The Lions will take on 10th ranked UC Davis on Saturday at 12 noon in a game that will decide the top-seed in the upcoming Western Water Polo Association Championships, which will be held Nov. 20-22 at Air Force.
