LMU volleyball's five-match win streak came to an end on Thursday night, as the Lions (14-7, 6-3 WCC) suffered their first sweep of the season, falling in straight sets to San Diego (15-6, 8-1 WCC) by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-12 at home in Gersten Pavilion.

San Diego hit .278 as a team while holding LMU to just .019 on the other side of the net. Lisa Kramer led the Torero attack, posting 18 kills on 36 attacks with just seven errors for a .306 percentage. Setter Kristen Gengenbacher dished out 35 assists, while Kramer added two of USD's three aces. The Torero block registered 11 team blocks behind seven block assists from Lauren Schad.
No Lion player reached double-digit kills, with Rachelle Suaava contributing a team-best nine on 23 attacks. Hannah Tedrow had 21 assists and three blocks, as the Lions finished with five total team blocks.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday when they host #12 BYU at Noon. With a sweep of Pepperdine on Thursday, the Cougars currently own a share of first place with San Diego in the WCC.
