Madness 2015

Women's Basketball

It's Madness Week

Oct. 19, 2015

LOS ANGELES - The 2015 Week of Madness has hit the LMU campus, and there is a week full of events for the Lions, highlighted by Madness 2015 on Friday, Oct. 23 at 8 pm. The student-driven event will feature a first-look at 2015-16 LMU men's and women's basketball teams.

Doors open for Madness at 8 pm and will incorporate the new center-hung scoreboard and LED display system just installed at Gersten Pavilion. This year's give-away to all students at Madness will be LED shades and drawstring bags. The men's and women's basketball teams will compete in shooting competitions and there will be a dunk contest.

As has been the tradition of LMU Madness, there will be a dance-off between other teams at LMU and dance clubs on campus will also give dance performances. There will be plenty to see at Madness 2015.

The week is more than just Madness, with a full slate of games on campus this week. It begins with men's water polo taking on Concordia, Thursday, Oct. 22 at 3 pm. Look for the Lions in their annual ZUMO swimsuit run on campus. Then at 7 pm, the Lions will host a crucial WCC showdown with nationally-ranked San Diego. It is the Think Pink weekend raising awareness and funds for Dig For the Cure, a fight against cancer. Look for pink shirts at the game.

Then on Friday, before Madness, LMU women's soccer continues to fight for a WCC Title when they host a key match-up with national power Portland at 6 pm. Student going to the game will get LMU Soccer T-Shirts and then can wear that shirt and go to the front of the line for Madness.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, women's volleyball continues its stretch against the top of the WCC when they host 15th-ranked BYU at 12 noon. The Think Pink weekend continues. Also at noon across the atrium at the Burns Aquatics Center, LMU will host conference rival UC San Diego in a key Western Water Polo Association match-up.

The weekend ends with women's soccer taking on Gonzaga on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 pm. The game is Professor Appreciation day.

Students and those with active LMU OneCard get into every game free.
