SAN DIEGO-- The LMU men's basketball team hits the road for the first time in West Coast Conference play on Thursday, taking on San Diego at 8 pm. Chase Flint, who has been asked to take on am expanded leadership role as a point guard and senior, talked to LMU Sports Network heading into the match-up with the Toreros.
Flint, who graduated in May with his Bachelor's in Communications, has a career 2.45 assist-to-turnover ratio and is coming off a seven-assist, no turnover performance against Saint Mary's. He talked to LMUSN's Jesse Kass about the need of the Lions to keep focusing on getting better each day and becoming more consistent.
Entering his final months of college basketball, Flint talked of setting an example both on and off the court for the young Lions. Flint, who is from Fruit Heights, Utah, and was married to LMU volleyball player Betsi Metter last May, will have a chance to play in his home state one last time when the Lions conclude the road trip at BYU on Saturday.
The series between LMU and San Diego has been one of the most even in LMU's history with both teams winning 45 games. The 91st meeting between the Toreros (8-8, 1-3) and the Lions (4-11, 0-3) can be seen on Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Comcast SportsNet-CA, ROOT Sports NW/Rocky Mountain and out of region on TheW.tv.
