LOS ANGELES - The LMU men's soccer team returns to Sullivan Field Friday, Sept. 26 to host Grand Canyon at 7 p.m., while also kicking off the University's alumni weekend by celebrating 50 years of men's soccer.
All men's soccer alums are invited to a pre game reception from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Lions Athletic Center, and will also be honored at halftime of the match versus the Lopes.
The Lions enter Friday's match at 2-3-2 overall after suffering a 2-0 setback at Xavier on Tuesday. Through seven matches, Sebastian De Rada leads the Lions with two goals and three assists for seven points. Adrien Perez has two goals and two assists for six points. Four other Lions have scored once while freshman Alvaro Madrigal and Grant Sampson have three assists apiece.
In goal, Vince Paldino and Paul Blanchette have split time with Padino holding an 0.75 GAA and 2-2-0 record, including two shutouts, in four starts. Blanchette is 0-1-2 with a 1.39 GAA in three starts.
Grand Canyon is 2-3-1 on the season with wins over the West Coast Conference's newest member, Pacific, and Sacramento State. Three Lopes have scored twice each while goalkeeper Kendyl Day holds a 1.37 GAA and one shutout.

LION NOTES
• Craig Nitti and Adrien Perez were named to the 11-member John Rennie/Nike Invitational All-Tournament Team
• Adrien Perez scored his 13th career goal at UC Davis (Sept. 5) putting him in a three-way tie for 9th in the LMU career goals record book
• John McFarlin needs three assists to tie and four to break, the LMU career record of 21, held by Arturo Torres (1999-02)
