LOS ANGELES - Entering their fourth week of summer training the LMU women's basketball incoming freshman class is getting the hang of the early morning practices and intense training regimen, which includes team practice, open gym, weights and conditioning.
"It's really different, but it's good for us and is helping us grow," said rookie Deshka Olson, one of six freshman on the Lion squad. "We're getting used to things and we're getting stronger and faster every day."
The LMU Sports Network caught up with women's basketball's Strength and Conditioning Coach Jack McCormick and Olson, who both talked about the goals and development of this summer training session, along with how the large group of freshman has been a helpful factor in adjusting from high school to Division I collegiate training.
