LOS ANGELES -Eight games are in the books at the 2014 ZUMO LMU Invitational and ninth-ranked LMU dropped a pair of contests, falling 15-12 to Hartwick in the morning opener and then to No. 10 Princeton, 9-3, in the final game of the day.

"We are working through some injuries and that really hindered us," said Head Coach Kyle Witt. "Not in terms of missing them in the line-up, but in that we didn't have players rise up and step-in. We need to have stronger mental toughness when it comes to overcoming adversity. We didn't do that today."

The Lions never got into rhythm in the opener, as Hartwick jumped out to an early 5-1 lead and never trailed. Laura Lopez and Mackenzie Beck had three goals each in the first game.

In the second game of the day, the LIons were limited to just three goals as Princeton All-American goalie made 11 saves. LMU goalie Claire Wright also stepped up, making 11 saves herself after not playing against Hartwick.

The ZUMO LMU Invitational concludes on Saturday as the Lions face Pomona-Pitzer at 11:45 am and then Brown at 4:45 pm.
