LMU rowing was in action last weekend, as the men hosted the Parker Cup against San Diego State and UC Irvine, while the women competed against UCLA.

The LMU women contested three races against UCLA, including a pair of varsity eight races and one varsity four race. UCLA won all three races, but LMU's young squad, which includes four freshmen in the top two boats, earned valuable experience competing against UCLA.

On the men's side, LMU finished third of the three teams in the varsity eight race before winning the varsity four with a time of 7:32.60, more than 10 seconds faster than SDSU's varsity four. The Lions finished competition with the lightweight eight race, finishing behind San Diego State (6:52.70) with a time of 7:06.80.

According to men's head coach Peter Mallory, "in the varsity eight race, LMU caught a boat-stopping crab near the 1,000 mark, which removed them from any contention for second place."

LMU rowing will return to the water on March 22 when it travels to Orange Coast College to participate in the Berg Cup.
