LOS ANGELES -- Evan Payne set pretty much every freshman scoring record in his first season at LMU, but for him the daily challenge to focus on what it takes to get better every day drives him as he leads the Lions into Stanford on Wednesday.
Payne, who entered the week ranked seventh in the nation in scoring at 22.6 points per game and second in the West Coast Conference, talked with LMU Sports Network about his sophomore season. He talked about the mission new Head Coach Mike Dunlap has challenged him with, what it takes to lead and how team work is the key to the Lions' success.
The Lions take on the Cardinal today, Wednesday, Dec. 17 with game time is set for 6 pm (PT). It is just the sixth time in program history the Lions will face Stanford, and the first the 1984-85 season. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network and can be heard on KXLU 88.9 FM.
