2014 Head of American Results
The LMU rowing teams competed at the Head of the American at the Sac State Acquatic Center on Saturday. Highlights included the Lion women placing a pair of boats in the top-eight of the collegiate 4+ race and the men's lightweight 4+ registering a second-place finish.
Coxed by Kim Caroe, LMU's collegiate 4+ boat of Mireia Ros, Numa Dorling, Kim Ehntholt and Toni Boteva took fourth in 19:37 before Briar Murphy, Louisa Del Valle, Jessica Kegel, Clara Brackbill and Emma Wright (coxswain) claimed eighth with a time of 20:18. The Lions finished behind only USC (first and third) and Stanford (second).
LMU's men's lightweight 4+ earned its second-place finish in 19:08, trailing only UC Berkeley. The men also turned in two top-five boats in the men's open 2 (third and fifth) and a seventh-place finish in the men's open 8+ with a time of 17:44.
The Lions fielded six boats in the women's collegiate pairs, with Ros and Jessical Kegel teaming for the best finish (29th in 21:34).
