PORTLAND - The LMU women's soccer team closed out its Pacific Northwest swing with a 1-0 setback at Portland in West Coast Conference action Sunday afternoon at Merlo Field.

The Lions fell to 9-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in WCC play while the Pilots snap a three-match unbeaten streak, moving to 6-8-2 overall and and even 3-3-0 in the WCC.

Noelle LaPrevotte supplied the lone goal of the match at the 55:30 mark, sending a low shot into the far post netting from the left corner of the box. The goal came at the end of a flurry of Portland shots, including one by LaPrevotte that was blocked by an LMU defender. But the rebound came back out to Allison Wetherington, who touched the ball back to LaPrevotte for the goal.

LMU had nine shots in the match, including four on goal that forced saves by Portland goalkeeper Hannah De Haan. Sophia Leksan also had four saves for the Lions.

The Lions close out their three-game road swing on Saturday, Nov. 2, facing Wells Fargo PCH Cup rival Pepperdine. Kick off in Malibu is scheduled for 1 p.m.
