LOS ANGELES - LMU women's soccer kicks off its final road trip of the season this week, making the Pacific Northwest adventure up to face West Coast Conference rivals Gonzaga, on Friday, Oct. 24, and Portland, on Sunday, Oct. 26.
The road swing begins the final stretch of the 2014 season and WCC play for the Lions, who enter the week at 8-5-2 overall and 1-3-1 in league play.
Morgan Hibly continues to lead the Lions with 12 points on four goals and four assists.
Shannon Kent is the team's leading scorer with five goals while
Jocelyn Blankenship has a team-best six assists.
Sophia Leksan continues to stay strong in goal, playing every minute of the season thus far. The sophomore holds a 1.14 GAA and four shutouts in her first season as a starter.
Gonzaga enters the week at 8-6-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the WCC. The Zags won three straight to open league play before most recently dropping a 2-0 decision at BYU. Karley Baggerly leads the team with four goals and two assists for 10 points. Tori Lee has also found the back of the net four times as eight total Zags have scored this season, accounting for 21 goals. Christie Tombardi has played all but 13 minutes in goal, posting five shutouts and a 1.05 GAA.
Portland enters the week at 5-7-2 overall and an even 2-2-0 in WCC play. The Pilots will host Pepperdine on Friday before LMU makes the trip to Merlo Field on Sunday. Danica Evans leads the squad with seven goals and two assists. Just five Pilots have scored goals this season.In goal, both Taylor Luty and Hanna De Haan have split time, combining for a 1.38 GAA and three shutouts.

Callie Taylor earned the first WCC Player of the Week honor for 2014 after scoring back-to-back game winning goals against New Mexico State and Cleveland State

Sophia Leksan posted back-to-back shutouts against Cleveland State and Oregon State and now has four clean sheets on the year.
• The win at UCSB on Sept. 7 snapped a 14-match road losing streak for LMU. The last road victory prior to that was a big one, however, a 3-0 upset of then No. 15 Pepperdine on Oct. 19, 2012.

Sarah Sanger has a pair of overtime golden goal winners this year, netting them in back-to-back games at UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 7) and versus Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 14). • Junior

• The Lions are unbeaten in overtime games this season, going 2-0-2. That mark includes a scoreless draw at Oregon State (Aug. 29), followed by back-to-back, double-overtime golden-goal winners at UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 7) and versus Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 14), and most recently a 2-2 draw at Saint Mary's (Oct. 12).
• LMU's 3-1 win at Pacific on Oct. 10 snapped a 12-game streak without a WCC victory. Previous to the Oct. 10 match, LMU's last WCC win was over San Francisco - a 1-0 overtime victory over the Dons on Oct. 21, 2012. The Lions are now unbeaten in their last two WCC matches.
SERIES HISTORY VS GONZAGA The Lions are 14-5-3 all-time against Gonzaga, including a 6-3-1 mark in Spokane. The Bulldogs have had the upper hand in the last two years, however, as LMU has gone 0-3-1 during the span. Four all-time matches have gone into overtime, with three ending in a draw and one resulting in an LMU win.
SERIES HISTORY VS PORTLAND The Lions are 0-20-1 all-time against the Pilots. The Lions dropped a pair of 2-0 decisions to the Pilots last year and will be seeking their first ever win in Portland this week.
