LAS VEGAS - LMU redshirt senior Alex Cowling was named to the 2013 West Coast Conference All-Tournament Team, as selected by media members in attendance throughout the championship tournament.
Also named to the All-Tournament team were Gonzaga's Haiden Palmer (MVP), Kaelor Karr and Shelby Cheslek, and San Diego's Amy Kame.
Gonzaga clinched the WCC Championship title Monday afternoon in a 62-52 final over San Diego.
This marks the first WCC All-Tournament honor for Cowling who closed out a remarkable career in the fifth-seeded Lions' quarterfinals loss to BYU.
In LMU's tournament opener against San Francisco, Cowling had 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Lions rolled to a 75-53 victory.
The following day against BYU, she led LMU with 17 points, eight boards, two assists, two blocks and a steal. She battled to the end in an effort to extend her career, scoring the game's final 10 points, but the Lions came up short in a 69-57 final.
LMU's all-time leading scorer and rebounder and the newly crowned WCC all-time leader in career points leaves the bar set at 2,219 points and 939 rebounds.
