Head of the American Results
Competing against some of the top rowing programs in the nation, including Cal, USC, Washington, Stanford and UCLA, LMU hit the water at the Head of the American at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. on Saturday morning. LMU's men's open 4+, coxed by Natasha Gunasekara and comprised of Brendan Henderson, Quin Thames, Cameron Heath and Trevor Felix, placed fourth out of 16 in a time of 18:28.3.
Mackenzi Sherman and Janayna Sobrosa recorded a top-10 finish in the women's collegiate 2- final, stopping the clock at 20:46.6. In a packed field of 29, LMU's women's collegiate 8+ placed 14th overall in a time of 18:06.2. LMU's second boat in the race took 21st overall in 19:14.6.
Janna Forney, Marie Bliss, Kelsey Burrell and Sara Nahass, coxed by Emma Wright, competed in the women's collegiate 4+, earning a time of 20:51.8 to take 16th place. LMU also placed a boat in 22nd with a time of 22:48.8.
LMU will return to action on Saturday, hosting the Head of the Marina at the Jane Browne Bove Boathouse.
