Lions Fall to Kansas at Golden Dome Invitational, 3-1

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The LMU volleyball team (6-4) dropped a four-set match to Kansas (10-1) by scores of 25-13, 25-23, 21-25, 25-14 on Friday afternoon at the Golden Dome Invitational being hosted by Notre Dame over the weekend. The Lions held Kansas to just a .215 hitting percentage, but managed just a .108 clip of their own and served-up 13 service errors in the loss. With the win, the Jayhawks have now won eight straight matches.

Sophomore Litara Keil provided a bright spot for the Lions, collecting a team-high 12 kills with only four errors for a .308 hitting percentage, teaming the solid clip with four block assists. Junior Kathleen Luft contributed 11 kills, while Felicia Arriola narrowly-missed a double-double with 10 kills and nine digs. Freshman Hannah Tedrow dished-out 38 assists, splitting time with sophomore Ashley Maxfeldt. Fellow freshman Amber Mirabello had a solid match on the attack, hitting .364 with six kills on 11 attacks. Junior Betsi Metter accumulated 18 digs to lead the Lions in that category from the libero position, while junior Taylor Scioscia posted a career-best 10 digs of her own.

Sara McClinton led the Jayhawk attack with 14 kills on 30 swings. Tayler Tolefree and Catherine Carmichael pitched-in 10 and eight kills, respectively, while Tiana Dockery hit for a .417 average with six kills on 12 swings. Dockery also led the team on the block, recording nine block assists to help Kansas to 14 total team blocks. Erin McNorton set the offense, dishing-out a match-best 40 assists, while Brianne Riley recorded a match-high tying 18 digs defensively.
