SAN DIEGO - Dana Waldusky tossed her second complete-game shutout in two days and the LMU softball team split a Pacific Coast Softball Conference doubleheader with San Diego, 3-0 and 0-4, Sunday at the USD Softball Complex.

The Lions move to 32-17 overall and 10-6 in the PCSC, good for third place in a tight race atop the Coastal Division standings. San Diego now sits at 24-17 overall and 11-5 in league play, good for second place.

Saint Mary's, which won three of four over Santa Clara this weekend, took over first place with an 11-4 mark in PCSC play. LMU closes out the regular-season Saturday and Sunday at Saint Mary's, with the Coastal Division title on the line and a chance to advance to the PSCS Championship Series. The league champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

In Sunday's opener, Waldusky (15-8) picked up her third win of the series as she struck out five, walked just one, scattered five hits and did not allow a runner past second base.

Playing as the designated home team, the Lions took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. With two outs, Sam Fischer drew an intentional walk and Olivia Alvarez followed with a triple to right-center, plating Fischer.

The Lions added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth on a Kelly Sarginson RBI-single to left and a Kylie Ahlo RBI-single to short. Ahlo finished 2-for-2 in the game while four other Lions had one hit apiece.

San Diego finally held the LMU offense at bay in the series finale as starting pitcher Cassidy Coleman allowed just three hits while fanning 12 batters in her 11th win of the season. Sam Nelson had two hits for the Lions and Ahlo had one.

The Toreros scored three runs in the third and one in the fifth, all unearned on account of two Lions' errors.

Ahlo had her best weekend of the year, going a combined 6-for-11 (.545) to lead LMU. Fischer was 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, six runs scored and nine walks.
