SPOKANE, Wash. - The LMU women's soccer team had its three-game win streak snapped with a 2-0 loss at West Coast Conference rival Gonzaga Friday afternoon.
The loss drops LMU to 9-6-2 overall and 3-3-0 in WCC play while the Bulldogs improved to 7-9-1 overall and 1-4-1 in conference action.
Gonzaga took a 1-0 lead just six minutes in when Tori Lee fed a ball into the box for Lauren Luke who sent a shot into the lower left corner of the net. The Zags added an insurance goal in the 72nd minute on a header goal by Cricket Harber. Lee once again earned the assist, this time off a corner kick.
The Lions had 18 shots and nine corner kicks in the game, but were kept off the board as GU goalkeeper Susan Brown made four saves while her defensive line cleared a fifth shot-on-goal off the line.
The Lions will look to get back on track as they conclude their two-game roadtrip on Sunday, facing off against Portland at 1 p.m.
