BERKELEY, Calif. -- The LMU women's water polo team dropped a pair of non-conference battles to the nation's best falling to No. 1 Stanford and No. 2 Cal at the 2011 Speedo Invitational in Berkeley on Saturday.

The Lions opened with the top-ranked Cardinal, falling 17-2 in the morning. The Lions then battled No. 2 Cal in their home pool, eventually falling 8-6 in a tight one.
