LOS ANGELES - In conjunction with LMU's Centennial Celebration throughout 2011-12, the Lions' rowing program is also celebrating 50 years of men's rowing and 35 years of women's rowing. Looking to bring faces of the past together with current student-athletes, the newly formed Lions Rowing Association is coordinating a weekend of events revolving around LMU's Saturday, March 10 race against San Diego State (women) and UCLA (men).
Activities on Saturday will include the races, the christening of two new boats, a ceremony honoring the members of the founding men's and women's rowing teams and a dinner/silent auction to cap off the evening. Sunday's activities will include Mass, a campus tour and a no-host brunch.
More details will follow in coming weeks and invitations will be sent out on February 10. Those interested in attending, or receiving further information, should contact June D'Amour at 310-338-1743 or June.D'Amour@lmu.edu.
