IRVINE, Calif. -- In a rare night game, LMU women's water polo couldn't hang-on to a late goal lead as they fall to No. 13 UC Irvine, 11-9, Thursday night at Anteater Aquatics Center.

The teams traded goals throughout the game and the Lions took a 9-8 lead early in the fourth quarter. However, UCI used home-pool to their advantage to score the final three goals of the quarter for the 11-9 win.

LMU falls to 17-6 on the season and will play a tripleheader at home Saturday, taking on Cal State San Bernardino at 9 a.m., and then Santa Clara at 3 p.m. CSUSB will take on Santa Clara at 12 noon.
