Results

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU Men's tennis team had a successful weekend where recorded a 5-2 win over University of Utah in San Diego. The Lions dropped the doubles point but came back strong in singles to clinch with team win with five singles victories. The Lions are now 10-8 this season and have only four matches remaining before they take to the WCC tournament in San Diego.

In doubles the Lions were led by a win on court two from Alex Wilton and Sebastian Bustamante. Wilton and Bustamante defeated Mamedov/LaBarre of Utah 8-3 to make them 7-7 overall this season. On courts one and three, the Lions were unable to hold off Utah falling in a close 9-8 on court one and a close 9-7 on court three.

In singles play, the Lions came back full force to earn wins on five courts. Senior Aris Andreasian led the Lions with a win on court one over Suriano of Utah 6-7, 6-2, 6-3. Andreasian has been gaining momentum and is now 4-2 over his last six matches. On court four, Alex Wilton earned his third straight win, as he was the Lion's only singles win against UCLA and then contributed to a 4-3 win over Dartmouth. Wilton's win this weekend against Utah makes him 10-7 overall in singles. After a tough doubles loss, freshman Daniel Simko came back to also earn a win defeating Cowley 6-3, 6-1 on court five. On court six, teammate Tom Price defeated Tasevac of Utah after dropping the first set 5-7, Price came back to handily win 6-2, 6-2 in the next two sets. Sebastian Bustamante clinched the overall win for the Lions with a win on court three. Bustamante earned both a doubles and singles victory for the Lions defeating Lane of Utah 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in singles.

The Lion's had a good weekend of competition and recorded another win to make them 10-8 overall. After dropping a close doubles point, the Lions rallied back for some tough competition, taking Utah to three sets on four courts to earn the overall win.
