LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU men's tennis team fell to cross town rival UCLA 6-1 today. The Lions were highlighted by a singles win from Alex Wilton over UCLA's Holden Seguso on court four. After dropping the doubles point, the Lions were unable to stop no.13 UCLA in singles.
In singles Alex Wilton earned the Lions their only point on the day with a big win over Seguso of UCLA. Wilton is now 8-7 with this win in singles today and will be looking to continue this momentum against Dartmouth tomorrow.
Tomorrow the Lions will hit the courts early for a match against Dartmouth for the third annual Betty Werner Cup honoring the late late LMU Senior Associate Athletics Director who lost her battle with cancer in August 2008. The match has been moved up to 9:00am in an effort to avoid being rained out.
