LOS ANGELES - On senior day at Sullivan Field, the LMU women's soccer team earned its eighth shutout of the season and snapped a five-game losing streak by earning a 0-0 draw against Seattle University.

The Lions close out the 2011 season with a 7-10-3 overall record while the Redhawks finish their final season at a Division I Independent with a 12-6-1 mark. Seattle will begin official competition as a member of the Western Athletic Conference in the fall of 2012.

LMU seniors Jaide Garcia, Erin Rementer, Brittney Sanford and Marissa Zamora were honored in a pregame ceremony just prior to kick off. All four were key players in the match as Garcia and Zamora played all 110 minutes in the Lions' back line, keeping the Redhawks at bay.

Sanford led the LMU attack with five shots and Rementer added one in the second half that was saved by Seattle goalkeeper Madison Goverde.

Sophomore Tawni Martino had perhaps the best opportunity of the match, sending a shot just wide right with less than 15 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.

The Lions had 11 total shots to the Redhawks six, and also collected 15 corner kicks to Seattle's six. Brittany Jagger made three saves in goal for LMU, earning her sixth shutout of the season and the 15th of her career, moving her into a tie for No. 4 in LMU's all-time record book.
