Los Angeles, CA -- In a game that featured a little of everything, the Loyola Marymount women's water polo team could not complete a fierce rally as they fell to No. 15 Michigan 8-6 at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center on Thursday afternoon. The teams combined for 29 ejections, including a triple ejection that ignited the Lions rally.

Michigan jumped out to a 3-0 lead and led by as many as four when Leah Robertson scored her second goal of the game with 6:38 remaining in the contest to put the Wolverines up 8-4.

However, the Lions drew three Michigan ejections in four seconds to have a 6-on-3 advantage. They capitalized and put the score at 8-5 with 5:33 remaining when Carrie Kosnik scored.

LMU continued to inch closer when Daisy Fish scored her second goal with 3:50 remaining to make the score 8-6. The Lions would have two more 6-on-5 opportunities in the final three minutes but could not take advantage.

LMU falls to 3-3 on the season while Michigan improves to 5-7. LMU went just 3-for-16 (18.8 percent) on the man advantage while Michigan went 4-for-11 (36.6 percent).

Mary Ann Campos and Fish had two goals each to lead the Lions while Michigan was led by Robertson and Julie Hyrne with two goals a piece.

LMU and Michigan will both play in the UC Irvine Invitational starting on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Lions will open play with No. 8 Arizona State at 10:15 a.m.
