Newport Beach, CA (March 9) - The Loyola Marymount University crew team started the 2003 season with the Parker Cup at the Lido Channel in Newport Beach, Calif. The Lions' women's Varsity 8 team earned a first place finish with a time of 7:10.82.

The Lions Varsity 8 team consisted of Vanessa Glendenning, Malin Gustavsson, Lot Keijzer, Gemma Gaduio, Liz Stawart, Beth Henderson, Caitlin McClain, Sarah Daum and the coxswain was Blake Boyer.
