Los Angeles, Calif. - The Loyola Marymount men's and women's cross country teams took advantage of cool conditions at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, posting some of their best times of the 2000 season.
The Lion men placed 14th out of 21 teams and were led for the fourth consecutive meet by senior Mark Siegfried (27:42.50), who placed 71st overall. On the women's side junior Jenny Atkinson paced LMU for a fourth straight meet, clocking her best time in a LMU uniform of 19:48.40 while finishing a respectable 27th. As a team Loyola Marymount placed 17th in a field of 20.
The Lions continue their season next Saturday, Sept. 30 at the prestigious Stanford Invitational.
