Loyola Marymount University claims a GSR of 93 in the most recent release of the metric. This year marks the 12th straight time in the 19-year history of the metric that LMU has reached or exceeded 90 percent, and the 16th straight year the campus has posted a mark of 88 percent or higher.
GSR data indicates the number of student-athletes earning a degree within six years. The NCAA developed the GSR to more accurately assess the academic success of student-athletes. The Grad Success Rate includes transfer students and student-athletes who leave in good academic standing, unlike the federal rate, which does not count transfers. The GSR also accounts for mid-year enrollees and is calculated for every sport.
The most recent Grad Success Rates are based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2015 through 2018.
In this most recent data, all 13 LMU teams recorded marks of 88 percent or better. Every one of LMU's teams are at or above the fed rate.
Three LMU teams registered perfect 100 GSR marks, including men's water polo, women's basketball, and women's volleyball The perfect score is the fifth straight for women's basketball, and foruth straight for men's water polo and women's volleyball.
Of the 24 Division I schools in California, LMU's rate of 93 percent is tied for eighth overall The West Coast Conference shows well in the GSR standings, as all nine intuitions are at 90 or better.
