Shelby Jeffries

In her third season, Shelby Jeffries helped guide the 2026 Lions to a 33-19 overall record and a third-place finish in the West Coast Conference with a 10-8 mark in league play. The season was highlighted by the best 15-game non-conference start in program history at 13-2, as LMU earned national recognition with seven consecutive weeks in the D1Softball Mid-Major Top 25 rankings and also received votes in week three of the NFCA Top 25 poll. The Lions secured a signature win over No. 23 Washington on February 22 and saw continued success across the roster, highlighted by the WCC Defensive Player of the Year in Avery Francis, four All-WCC First Team selections, three Second Team honorees, and three All-Freshman Team selections. LMU also excelled in the classroom, earning three All-WCC All-Academic Team selections and six honorable mentions.

In her second season, Shelby helped the young Lions to a 22-31 record, including a 7-8 mark in WCC play. The season featured signature wins over No. 6 Oregon and No. 75 Saint Mary’s. Eight Lions earned All-WCC honors, and seven were named to All-Academic Teams.

In her first season, Shelby assisted the 2024 Lions to a second-place finish in the WCC with a 9-7 conference record and an overall record of 28-25. Highlights of the season included a 4-0 victory over the #14 ranked Oregon Ducks and winning the Spring Fling Tournament in Hawaii, where four Lions were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Jeffries joins the Lions from University of Washington, where she was on the staff that helped the Huskies return to Oklahoma City in 2023. In her lone season in Seattle, UW won 44 games, and hosted both NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals, advancing in both. She also grew up pitching under UW All-American Eve Gaw. 

A five-year student-athlete at Cal Poly, Jeffries earned NFCA All-West Region Second Team honors as a senior while contributing as both a utility player and pitcher. Over her final two seasons with the Mustangs, she batted .309 with 40 RBIs, 12 doubles, and seven home runs, finishing her career ranked seventh in program history. She graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in recreation, parks and tourism administration.

Following her collegiate career, Jeffries went on to become a graduate assistant/pitching coach at Cal State Bakersfield. During her time with the Roadrunners, she assisted in the training and development of the offense and defense while also calling pitches in-game.
