Eryka Baez joins the LMU Athletic Department as the inaugural Assistant Athletics Director, Compliance in 2024. In that role, she will work directly with the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Compliance to cover all things related to compliance including the development, implementation, and documentation of all departmental policies and procedures related to NCAA rules compliance and rules education for student-athletes, athletics staff, applicable university staff, and representatives of athletics interests, researching and interpreting conference and NCAA rules and regulations and review with appropriate constituencies, and serving as as sport facilitator for assigned sports including responding to interpretive inquiries, preparing and submitting waiver requests. Baez will serve as a direct contact with the Admissions Office and NCAA Eligibility Center.
Eryka previously worked at UC Riverside, and joined the Highlanders in 2019 after spending two years as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance and Student Services at Illinois State University, where she also received her M.S. in Sport Management (’19).

She came to UCR with a vast array of skills in collegiate athletics having gained experience in promotions, marketing, advertising, social media, sponsorships, and community outreach. Before becoming a Redbird, she earned a position at Rutgers University (Newark Campus) as a part of the NCAA Division III Women’s and Ethnic Minority Grant Program where she served in the Marketing & Advertising Department.

Eryka earned her B.S. in Sport Management in 2015 at Post University in Waterbury, CT where she was also a two-sport student-athlete for Soccer and Lacrosse. She earned CACC Athlete of the Week Honors in Lacrosse for the Eagles and was third on the team in scoring during her senior season.

Outside of UCR she is very active in the collegiate sports communities as a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and the National Association for Athletic Compliance.

Eryka hails from the East Coast as a Clifton, NJ native.
