Stephanie Schuffels is in her third season with LMU swimming... is a member of the Chemistry Society Club... AT LMU
2013-14...strengths include being an extremely versatile swimmer for the Lions...started the season with strong performances in mid-distance freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke, and IM events...due to an injury, Stephanie was unable to complete the swim season, but her initial efforts led the Lions to multiple victories in Alaska, PCSC Pentathlon Meet and the Malibu Invitational...adds to the academic success for women's swimming as earning one of the top GPAs on the team as well as being named MPSF All-Academic...member of the Alpha Phi sorority... 2012-13... minor injuries set Stephanie back at the beginning of the season, but she finished with extremely strong performances at the MPSF Championships... swam a season best 1:10.48 in the 100 breaststroke and a 58.38 in the 100 butterfly... strength in butterfly, breaststroke, and mid-distance freestyle added depth to the Lions team... HIGH SCHOOL
A 2012 graduate of Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, Calif... a four-year varsity letterwinner under coach Dave Carlson... garnered All-CIF recognition as a freshman, junior and senior... named team captain in her senior year... helped her squad to the Sunset League Championship in 2012... PERSONAL
Stephanie Marie Schuffels was born on January 28, 1994 in Long Beach, Calif... parents are Shari and Barry Schuffels... considered UC Santa Barbara, San Diego, UC Riverside, Georgetown and UCLA, but chose LMU because of the academic curriculum offered, reputation of the school, professor-to-student ratio, and because the University was the best fit for her... a biochemistry major.
