Stephanie Horwitz is in her third season with LMU swimming... AT LMU
2013-14...building off of her freshman year success, Horwitz continued to climb the ranks as one of the fastest women in LMU history in the distance freestyle events...she improved from fifth to fourth place in the 500 freestyle (5:01.17), from eighth to seventh in the 1000 freestyle (10:49.59), from 10th to fifth in the 1650 freestyle (10:40.25), and added her name to the ranks (10th) in the 200 freestyle (1:53.18)...she was a key member to the 800 freestyle relay at the MPSF Championships that placed seventh...she is also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as well as the Student-Athlete Mentor Program... 2012-13... proved to be a great asset for the Lions in distance freestyle and mid-distance butterfly events... her power and competitiveness landed Stephanie on the Top-10 performances in LMU history in the 500 freestyle (5th, 5:04.08), 1000 freestyle (8th, 10:48.35), 1650 freestyle (10th, 18:22.56), and the 200 butterfly (9th, 2:08.94)... finished the season with respective finishes at the MPSF Conference Championships -- 21st in the 200 butterfly and 19th in the 500 freestyle... HIGH SCHOOL
A 2012 graduate of Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Ill... a four-year varsity letterwinner under coach Robin Walker... named team captain as a senior... four-time All-Conference selection... garnered All-League in her final two seasons... All-City and All-America selection as a senior... also competed in water polo in high school... PERSONAL
Stephanie Marie Horwitz was born on March 31, 1994 in Evanston, Ill... parents are Joyce and Jeffery Horwitz... has one brother, Michael, and one sister, Natalie... considered Miami University, but chose LMU because of the great academics, close-knit team atmosphere and location... currently pursuing a degree in Health and Human Sciences.
