Before coming to LMU she was the assistant rowing coach at Duke University from 2016-2018. During her rookie season she worked with the Blue Devils' 3V8 defeating North Carolina and Clemson at the Carolina Cup. The same boat won bronze medal at the 2018 ACC Championship.
After coaching the Blue Devils for two seasons, McGee was promoted to be their Director of Operations for the following year.
Once her tenure was done with Duke in 2019, she became the rowing program director at The Hotchkiss School. At The Hotchkiss School McGee led the development of the school's inaugural rowing program, as well as, overseeing all aspects of the program from training to fundraising.
She was also the Coordinator of Athletic Leadership from 2021-2022 and Assistant Athletic Director in May 2022 with The Hotchkiss School.
McGee is a 2016 graduate of the University of North Carolina and was a member of the Tar Heels' varsity rowing team for three seasons. During her senior year, her V8 team qualified for the ACC Petite Final finishing the race in 6:56.891. The V8 was also named Crew of The Week by the ACC on March 29, 2016.
McGee received her B.A.in Exercise and Sports Science. She also got her masters degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership.
