Tami Shalvarjian began her first season with the Lions in the fall of 2014, with a focus on recruiting and assisting with the women[apos]s team.
Prior to joining the LMU staff, Shalvarjian was the Assistant Cross Country & Track coach at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, CA. At Mira Costa, she worked with more than 80 athletes and helped coach the girls varsity cross country team to a fifth place Division 2 finish at the State Meet in 2013. In addition to coaching during the school year, she also coached during the summer and at Mammoth High Altitude training camp.
Shalvarjian is a competitive masters runner who competes in distances ranging from 5,000m to the marathon, and she has competed in the Boston Marathon each of the last two years. She holds a USATF Level 1 certification for track and field and is preparing for USATF Level 2 certification. She previously worked in the pharmaceuticals industry and as a management consultant to healthcare companies. Coach Shalvarjian is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics and resides in Manhattan Beach, CA.
