Biography

Former Pacific Coast Softball Conference Player of the Year Danielle Kaminaka returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach in the fall of 2008. Kaminaka was a three-time First Team All-PCSC performer during her collegiate career at LMU, including winning Player of the Year honors in 2004 when she set school records with 15 home runs and 49 RBI. That year, she was also named to the NFCA Pacific All-Region team. Kaminaka followed that up in her senior season by winning the PCSC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and First Team Academic All-District honors in helping LMU to its second conference title and the school[apos]s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Kaminaka[apos]s name dominates the LMU single-season and career record books. She is first all-time at LMU in career doubles (43), home runs (47), runs batted in (149), walks (110), slugging percentage (.623), and on-base percentage (.434). She also holds four of the top ten single-season home run tallies in school history while her .888 slugging percentage in 2004 remains the best in program history. After graduating from in 2005 with her Bachelor[apos]s degree in English, Kaminaka spent two years teaching English in Japan. She returned to LMU as a graduate assistant coach from 2008-2010 and earned her Master[apos]s degree in English Literature from LMU in 2010.
