Rich comes to LMU after a decorated playing career at Harvard, where she was a four-time All-Ivy League honoree and the 2016 Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

In her freshman season for the Crimson in 2016, Rich batted .381 and led the team in hits (61) and triples (4). She was named to the All-conference second-team and earned the Ivy League Rookie of the Year award. In 2017, she led the team in runs scored and stolen bases, while her seven triples was the top mark among all Ivy League hitters. That season, she earned all-conference first-team honors, as well a nod to the NFCA Northeast Region Third Team.

During her junior year, Rich finished in the top ten in Division I in four statistical categories, including batting average (.436) and runs scored per game. She led the Ivy League in batting average and was a 3-time selection as Ivy League player of the week. She earned all-conference first-team honors for the second consecutive season; was named to the All-Northeast Region First Team; and earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.

In 2019, her senior season, Rich batted .277, with a .371 average in Ivy League play, and led the team with eighteen stolen bases. She was named to the All-Ivy League second team after the year.

Rich helped lead the Crimson to the Ivy League Championship Series all four years of her career, and was a valuable piece of the Harvard squads that earned back-to-back NCAA tournament berths in 2018 and 2019. She is one of four children, and has two sisters that also played Division I softball.
