Karina Rose Yalcin was born May 17, 1995 in Santa Clara, CA... daughter of Elizabeth and Nuri Yalcin... mother competed in rowing at Santa Clara University... also considered Santa Clara University, San Diego State University, Oregon State University, and University of Tennessee - Knoxville, but chose to attend LMU because of her love for the LMU women[apos]s rowing team and the school[apos]s moral values... a psychology major...
