- 2004 Season Stats Shaun Flood, a four-time letter winner for the LMU men's water polo program and winner of three conference championships, returned home when he was hired as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's water polo program in July of 2014. He enters his fourth season in 2017. Flood, who played in 102 career games for the Lions with 56 goals, graduated LMU in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. He was a part of three Western Water Polo Association Championships, winning the WWPA title in 2004, 2005 and 2007 as a senior. The title in 2007 was the first of four straight, the only men's program in LMU history to win four consecutive titles. He began coaching in 2011 with Whittier College as an assistant, leading the men's program to the 2013 SCIAC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Championships, both the first ever for the program at Whittier. He was an assistant for both the men's and women's programs. He also coached the swim program, serving as head coach in 2013. Following graduation, Flood, a dual citizen in the United States and Canada, played two years with the Canadian National Team (2009 and 2010). Flood was also the head coach of the Foothill Water Polo Club and an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic Development program. Career At LMU... 2007... played in all 30 games for the Lions, finishing career playing in 102... scored 18 goals with four assists, seven kick outs drawn and 14 steals... 2006... finished the season playing all 31 games... scored 17 goals, 10 on the extra-man attack... added 13 steals and three assists... had two goals in WWPA finals against UCSD (11/19/06)... had season high three goals against UCSD in the second of four meetings against the rival on the season (9/22/06)... 2005... had a break out second season for the Lions at 2-meter, scoring 18 goals on just 37 shots... drew seven kickouts and earned starting time towards the end of the season... scored a pair of goals against UC Davis (11-18-05) in the WWPA semifinal win... had his first career hat-trick in the overtime setback to UC Davis (10-16-05) in the NorCal tournament... played in 31 of the Lions' 32 games... 2004... played in 10 games as a true freshman... scored three goals on six attempts with a kick-out drawn... had two goals against Iona (9-4-04)... High School... Graduated from Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, FL with a 4.20 GPA... was a four-year letterwinner in both swimming and water polo... played water polo for his father and swam for coach Rachel Purdy... was team MVP in water polo all four years at high school... was an honorable mention All-American as a sophomore and junior and was selected as a future Hall of Famer at Bishop Moore... led team to state tournament in 2003 and 2004... scored 270 goals during career, 90 as a junior... won gold medal for 400-meter Free Relay in Junior National 13/14s...
