Biography
Briefly... Kris Barr enters his fourth season at LMU... a returning starter who missed last half of 2002 season due to illness... great defensive leadership and will be a key player in the Lions[apos] defensive style... should be the nucleus of the frontcourt defense.
At LMU... 2002... played first 17 games of the season before sitting out remainder of season due to illness... had 11 goals in 28 shots for a percentage of 39.3... added 12 steals and seven assists... had two-goal games against Santa Clara (9-7-02) and Cal (10-6-02)... 2001...finished the season fourth on the team with 34 goals... was also ranked fourth with 79 shots on goal as a sophomore... finished with a .430 shooting percentage... added 14 assists and 19 steals...2000...played in 24 games...shot a .500 percentage on 28 attempts...assisted in five goals...stole the ball seven times...turned the ball over only eight times.
High School... A 2000 graduate of San Benito High School in Hollister, CA...earned three varsity letters in water polo and four in swimming...served as water polo team captain as a junior and senior...an All-Central Coast and Monterey Bay League honoree from 1997-99, earning league co-MVP honors as a junior...competed against fellow Lions Ryan Chapatte and Kevin Witt...member of the Pacific Coast Zone Under-20 team... played for Tom Agan.
Personal... Kristopher Paul Barr was born on Mar. 6, 1982 in Hollister, CA...the son of Larry and Dianne Barr... father played water polo at UC Davis... has a younger brother, Nikolas who is a freshman for the Lions...a business major.
