IN 2020-21 • SOPHOMORE… Completed in five events with a 75.87 stroke average on the year… Played in all three fall tournaments, closing with a season-best 74-72-76—222 at the Rustic Collegiate Classic (Nov. 5-6, 2020)… Shot 78-73-73—224 at the Arizona Intercollegiate (Jan. 25-27, 2021) and 81-77-70—228 at the Nick Watney Invitational (Feb. 8-9, 2021) to close out the year.
 
IN 2019-20 • FRESHMAN… Did not compete in a tournament as a freshman.
 
Before LMU… Served as captain of the Corona Del Mar High School Golf Team for three seasons… Led team junior year with a 68 at Talega Golf Club to win CIF Southern Division Championship by 2… Shot 71 senior year at Mile Square Golf Club to place 2nd in CIF Southern Division Championship… Achieved First Team All-League all 4 years at CDM and MVP 3 out of 4 years… Shot 60 (-12) in USGA 4Ball Qualifier at River Ridge with Brendan Gonzalez to place 1st an advance to the US 4Ball… Shot 66-74 (-4) in TTC at Avondale Golf Club then placed 3rd
Shot 67 (-3) in US Open Local Qualifier at Oak Creek Golf Club to place 2nd and advance to 2nd stage… Shot 75-70-71 (E) to place 4th at AJGA Diablo Grande… Shot 71-72-76 (+3) to place 2nd at AJGA Mission Viejo.
 
Personal… Clauss was born in La Porte, Indiana… Son of Michael and Brenda Clauss… Father, Michael, was a collegiate golfer at St. Bonaventure University… Worked at Kumon Tutoring Center and help out teaching kids from ages 3-12 since September 2018… Volunteered at Newport Beach Country Club for the Senior PGA's Hoag Classic freshman to senior year… Volunteered at JCC Mirage and helped package food for the troops
