Nicole Martin was hired as the new head coach of Loyola Marymount University's Spirit Squad in the summer of 2018. In her role, Martin oversees the cheer and Lion Pride dance teams as well as LMU’s beloved mascot, Iggy the lion.
Before joining the LMU Athletics community, Martin built up over 20 years of experience in the cheer industry including 15 years of coaching at the youth and high school levels. She is also the co-founder and president of a non-profit called We Cheer For You, Inc., which raises funds to provide scholarships to youth level cheerleaders who aspire to cheer in high school.
She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from California State University, Northridge, and went on to secure her M.A. in business and non-profit management from Antioch University, Los Angeles.
Martin lives in El Segundo with her husband, Jason, and her two daughters, Lauren and Lindsay.
