Kristen Clarno is in her third season with LMU swimming... nominated for LMU Freshman of the Year in 2013... AT LMU
2013-14...had another solid year placing eighth in the 2014 MPSF Championships in the 200 individual medley and achieving Second Team All-Conference honors...also broke the LMU program record in the 400 individual medley with a career-best time of 2:24.64 winning the consolation final at the MPSF Championship (ninth place) and earned another LMU record swimming the anchor freestyle leg the 400 medley relay...narrowly missed a third program record in the 200 backstroke placing 10th in the conference meet with a career best time of 2:03.07...2014 Academic All-Conference selection... 2012-13... immediately proved herself as one of the most versatile and competitive athletes on the team... impressive performances during duel meets and Conference championships locked her name on the record books as the fastest woman in LMU history in the 200IM (2:02.98)... also accomplished the second-fastest time in both the 400IM (4:27.69) and 200 freestyle (1:51.05), the fourth-fastest time in the 200 backstroke (2:04.04), and the sixth-fastest in both the 100 freestyle (51.50) and 100 backstroke (58.67)... swam the freestyle leg of the school record-breaking 400 medley relay, placing sixth at the MPSF Championships (3:46.07)... HIGH SCHOOL
A 2012 graduate of Homestead High School in Cupertino, Calif... a four-year varsity letterwinner under coach Chris Michelmore... NJSCA All-American and team captain... also garnered USA Swimming Scholastic All-American recognition... a junior national qualifier and sectional finalist... also competed in water polo in high school... PERSONAL
Kristen Michelle Clarno was born on September 27, 1993 in Palo Alto, Calif... parents are Kim and Jerry Clarno...mother was a gymnast at Stanford... has two brothers, Jordan and Jackson... considered San Diego State, San Jose State, UC Santa Barbara, Pacific and Vanderbilt, but chose LMU because the campus is beautiful, the friendly atmosphere and rising swim program - everything was a perfect fit... a health and human sciences major.
