Briefly...Sami Strinz will play her fourth and final season in the Lions[apos] program... has become one of LMU[apos]s all-time offensive leaders, ranking fifth all-time with 27 career doubles, sixth with 72 RBI, third with 71 walks and second with 18 home runs...
At LMU... 2003... was named the PCSC Player of the Year... she led the conference with 16 doubles, setting a new single-season record at LMU, ranking her 23rd in the nation... she was second on the team with a .331 batting average with 57 hits, 12 runs scored, 26 RBI, and eight home runs... the eight HR ranked third in a single-season at LMU... she had 13 multiple hit games... also finished the season with an 8-6 record on the mound, appearing in 29 games for the Lions with six starts and one complete game... finished with two saves and a 3.01 ERA... 2002...played and started in all of the Lions[apos] 72 games...posted a .265 batting average...had 60 hits in 226 at-bats...hit eight doubles, one triple and eight home runs...drove in a team-leading 38 RBI...stole two bases and drew 10 walks...2001...made appearances in 47 games, starting in 44...had a .200 season batting average...scored 11 runs...brought in eight RBI...had 24 hits...nailed two home runs...
High School...a 2000 graduate of McKay High School in Salem, OR...previously attended Pleasant Hill High School...a four-year letterwinner in softball who served as team captain her final three seasons... selected as the Oregon Female Athlete of the Year for 1999-00 out of 14,000 athletes...an all-state and all-league honoree all four years...also earned four varsity letters in volleyball and one in basketball as a senior...
Personal... Sami Louise Strinz was born in Eugene, OR...the daughter of Tim and Ireane Strinz...Tim was one of her high school softball coaches...has an older sister, Jami, and younger brother, Tim, Jr...Jami played softball for Bradley...a Liberal Studies major with a Sociology minor.
