Briefly... Casie Phillips enters her fourth season
of LMU softball...
At LMU... 2004... started and played in 43 games for the Lions last year... went 31 for 111 for a .279 batting average... seven extra-base hits, five of which were home runs... had a .432 slugging %...2003... started and played in 48 games for the Lions... finished with a .285 batting average... was a second-team All-PCSC selection... finished with 39 hits, 16 runs scored and 18 RBI... had 10 extra base hits, 8 doubles and two home runs... had nine multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 effort in win over Portland State (4/27/04)... led the team with 17 sacrifice bunts and two sacrifice flies... 2002...played in 63 games and started in 60...posted 33 hits in 145 at-bats for a .228 batting average...hit eight doubles...scored 15 runs while driving in 10 RBI...drew nine walks and stole four bases...
High School...a 2001 graduate of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA...a four year letterwinner in softball...captained the squad her senior year...earned All-Sierra League honors her senior year...an All-CIF second team selection in her final year...
Personal... Casie Rene Phillips was born in Whittier, CA...the daughter of E.J. and Joanne Phillips...has two brothers, Tanner and Grant, and one sister, Danielle...names her most memorable moment as getting the winning hit in the Championship game of the Best of the West Tournament... chose LMU for the good academics, size, location and softball program... a Liberal Studies major and Sociology minor.
