2017 • JUNIOR
Played in all 29 matches for the Lions as a junior...compiled team-best 322 kills (2.98 per set) while hitting .265 over 687 attacks...posted 18 matches with double-digit kills, including a season-best 17 twice (at Oregon, September 1; vs. Santa Clara, October 12)...collected 50 total blocks to finish fifth on the squad...had five blocks vs. Santa Clara on October 12...196 kills (2.93 per set) in WCC play...named USC/LMU Invitational All-Tournament.
2016 • SOPHOMORE
Appeared in 12 matches, starting one... collected 32 kills while hitting .250... averaged 1.03 kills per set... logged 16 digs and seven block assists to average .23 blocks per set... posted eight kills with five digs and a block vs. Niagara on 8/27... five kills on eight swings (.500) vs. Youngstown State on 9/17.
2015 • FRESHMAN
Started four matches and appeared in 12 for the Lions as a freshman... posted 23 kills on 75 swings... managed 10 digs and nine block assists... registered first career kill against Houston Baptist on 9/5... posted a pair of blocks against Gonzaga on 11/7... three kills and two block assists at San Francisco on 11/14... six kills on 12 errorless attacks vs. Pepperdine on 11/21... five kills and two block assists vs. #13 Colorado State on 12/3.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2015 graduate of Eden High School in Ontario, Canada... three-year varsity letterwinner playing for head coach Albino Pereira... garnered All-SOSSA in her senior year -- the first year that the team was recognized... served as team captain in each of her final two seasons... guided her team to the 2015 Provincial Championship after earning a spot on the Ontario Provincial Team in 2014... one of the top amateur players in Canada, she has been a Canadian National Developmental Program prospect for two years prior to coming to LMU... named Eden High School Athlete of the Year in 2012 and 2013, and MVP of her team in each of her final two campaigns... played on the club level with Niagara Rapids Volleyball... also competed in track and field in high school.
PERSONAL
Sara Kovac... daughter of Mika and Predrag Kovac... has one brother, Philip, and a sister, Ema... chose LMU because the coaches are great, she really liked the girls on the team, the volleyball is played at a very high level, and she loves the location... an economics major with a mathematics minor.
