Before LMU... graduated from Dexter High School in Dexter, Mich., in June of 2013... helped his team to a sixth place finish at the MWPA (Michigan Water Polo Association) state championships... Merriman was named second-team MWPA All-State following his senior campaign... e was also named first-team MWPA All-East Region and first-team MWPA All-Tournament team... he was an All-State and All-Conference selection as a junior as well... he plays for Ann Arbor Water Polo Club... earned a letter in swimming all four years at Dexter, earning All-State honors as a senior... also earned Excellence in Biology and Excellence in Pre-Calculus/Trip. awards at Dexter.

Personal... Maxwell Jerome Merriman was born on Sept. 5, 1995 in Holland, Mich., and is the son of Kendra and Michael Merriman... has a young brother and sister... mother played volleyball at Central Michigan and Clemson... a Mechanical Engineering major.
