Briefly... Jill Austin begins her fourth season of collegiate rowing... participated in USRowing[apos]s under-23 lightweight development program in the summer of 2006... became first LMU women[apos]s rower to compete for the US National Team, appearing in the Under-23 World Championships in Scotland in July 2007... At LMU... 2007... won the Long Beach Sprints erg competition... rowed with lightweight 8 to victory at the WIRA Championships and to ninth place finish at IRA Nationals... named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar Athlete... 2006... earned All-WCC and All-WIRA honors... also earned WCC All-Academic and CRCA National Scholar Athlete accolades... member of the varsity 8 that won LMU[apos]s first WCC Championship...rowed with the varsity 8 for the entire season... helped Lions place second at the WIRA Championships... rowed with the Lightweight 8 at the Windermere Cup... helped varsity 8 defeat every WCC opponent in 2006... 2005... raced in every event in the 2005 season... made her first varsity 8 appearance against UCLA and UCI (3/12/05)... rowed with the varsity 8 for the rest of the season... member of the Varsity 8 boat at the WIRA Championships as well as the novice lightweight 4 team which took first place (5/1/05)... member of the Varsity 8 team for the Pac-10 Championships (5/15/05)... High School... graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 2004 with a 3.8 GPA... was a member of both the surf and crew team... in 2003 took second place at state and sixth place at nationals on the NAC Varsity 8 team... in 2004 took second place in state and third place in nationals with the NAC Lightweight 4 team...
